Intermittent Power Steering on a Fiat Punto

Currently have a problem with the power steering cutting out on a 99 (T) Punto 1.2.

It tends to happen evey time the car is used and coincides with either a sharp bump or corner.

Has anyone ever had a similar problem and/or any ideas what it might be?

This will more than likely be the power steering pump failing.. Very common faults on Punto's of that age.. 800 quid for a new one or you might be lucky and find a reconditioned one for 300.

Second that, very common fault on the early ones.
