Nearly given up selling the Brera
Discussion
Please don't take this as an insult, but you can sell any car in a week - just need to set the price right to attract interest. Perhaps advertising it a little lower than any other equivalent Brera will spark some interest?
Second hand Breras seem to me priced too strong - I know they are lovely looking cars, but you can't go from fiat style residuals to bmw territory in one model.
Best of luck moving it on.

What about an ad on here?
Tried that a couple of times, not one call
None of the dealers are really interested, i really reckon i've bought myself a bit of lemon.

Never thought this car would prove so un-popular to the masses.
You mean the ones who have spent the last 12 months reading your posts on how terrible it is?

Maybe its because everyone knows how shite the dealers are , and i aggree the second hand prices do seem high

No real interest in my Brera after a month on Autotrader, you really would'nt think a car this beautiful, & now cheap, would be such a problem to move on.
Anyone got any good ideas

My long-standing gripe with Alfa over my poor performing Brera is coming to a close ( i'm giving up!! )

it is a shite engine, no redeeming features at all as far as i can see, i'm amazed someone like Alfa ever decided to use it

What about part ex'ing it and just getting rid?
It's a shame (a real, crying shame), but the engine of choice in the Brera seems to be the diseasel that you were so set against.
Says a lot about the thinking at AR wrt the Brera and engines in general.
I suspect Brera-holics are waiting for the GTA and don't want the V6 in its current form.
Seeing as the Brera is supposed to be a GTV replacement, I've always been convinced that AR took their eye off the ball somewhat. What we wanted was a stylish, light, RWD coupé with plenty of power. What we got was a heavy, slow, FWD hatchback that didn't look half as good as the concept would have us believe.

The 2.4 Diesel is the best of the bunch IMO....Says a lot about the thinking at AR wrt the Brera and engines in general.

Absolutely
The V6 is a GM lump - awful gas guzzler and pretty torque challenged IMO. Other than that, I didnt buy the very sexy looking Brera because I had one as a service loan car from Maserati for a couple of days and thought it was pointless somehow - too large and floppy for a sports car and way to small in the back to carry 4.
So I bought a 159 2.4D Ti and its proving to be the dogs bollox - I'm pleasantly surprised, although I had a couple of those as loan cars and liked them (not Ti obviously, but 2.4 Diesel)so I guess I shouldnt be surprised
