Alfa 146 gearbox trouble - advice please!

Driving to work this morning, the car starts "jumping" out of 4th gear into neutral when changing up. Eventually got it to stay in gear but it didn't feel secure, if that makes sense. Then, 2nd gear started doing the same thing!

Took it to Alfanatics who are going to sort it but I have no idea what could cause it to do that. Any ideas anyone? I know that it is going to cost me especially as it is coinciding with a cambelt service. Even the receptionist stared to wince at that point!

crap alfa gearbox is the cause.

either get a cheap s/h g/box or possible srap heap becons.

A couple of years ago I had a gearbox problem on my 155.

I got a second had gearbox from a 145 QV for £80 and it cost be £200 in labour.
