Me!

Pop 100hp, white with red and white interior and aircon.

Not been asked for details of options yet so assume not in first batch of cars. Should get mine Feb apparently.

No specific date yet, but it'll be late January.

You're not in the market for a Mini are you (judging by your username)? Sadly we're going to have to sell our Mini 30 to make room for the 500 frown.

Did the same mate, sol my 2000 W plate Rover Mini Cooper S as it only did 1000 miles last year, also sold the Honda Insight & I am using a 180,000 mile BMW 525i at the moment until the 500 arrives.

Hmm, I got my summary sent through, and it includes the addition of a thing called including GAP PLUS insurance. I called the dealer to ask what it's for. Apparently, in the event of a write-off, it will pay out the difference between what the insurance company would pay out and the purchase price of the car - guaranteed for 3 years.

Is it a con rather like "payment protection insurance"? Or worth it for the 300 notes?

Oh, and I now have a delivery date of 31 Jan smile

The order was placed on the 2nd August. Actually, GI Jnr orginally ordered it but then circumstances meant he couldn't commit to it any longer, so the build slot was up for grabs. As I was about to order one anyway, I took the opportunity smile

I'll just go with whatever numberplate they put on it, as I already know it's a 500 tongue out

scratchchin Hmmm... <checks documents>

Ahh - that 31st Jan date is simply from the confirmation slip of the 2nd August. I know it's in production (as of last week), so I'll give them a tinkle and press them for an updated date.

Have you also had the call that the "musicy thing" (Soundscope) will not be available?

Any news then?

some people are being told Jan, some are being told Feb or even March.

FIAT UK claim there has not been a single RHD car built yet.

Yep, there seems to be a lot of confusion as to what's being built, when, etc. They are now saying that the only RHD cars currently being built are the launch cars (contrary to what I was told a couple of weeks back).

They could however confirm my status as:
"Status 13" - Does this mean 13th batch? 13th Car? 13th Jan?
Do you have a status number?

There is also apparently a sunroof shortage, which may or may not impact the build time of my car.

Oh, and I have reverted to the standard stereo now - I can always upgrade at a later date.

Status 13 is a special coding, 13 means "lucky to get before hell freezes over"

as you may have guessed I have no idea what this means.

Status 10 mean "high variability"

Stauts 13 is in light variability.

Sunroof means you wont get it till after summer.

Dealer has told me that my car is in line to be built by 31 Jan and with a bit of luck and a tail wind it may be ready for collection mid-Feb. Makes me think it might be worth waiting another couple of weeks for the 08 plate?

He also told me at time of speccing that the electric sunroof was unavailable at launch so I went with the fixed glass roof instead.

Cheers

I placed my deposit in October 2006!!!!!! Funnily enough I was the first one to place an order with the dealer and so my car was the first on his books to get specced.

Wifey has always loved the original and so I'm buying it as a surprise pressie for her.
