Arrrgggghhhh!!! Help please!

Ok so my GTV just cut out today, I was happily driving along when I lost all power and the engine just cut out. I pulled in to a layby and left the car for a couple of mins and then tried starting it again... It started with a lumpy idle and then after about 30 seconds the engine cut out again.
So er any ideas as to what it could be? I was thinking as we have had quite a few (small) floods around here perhaps some of the electrics have probably got damp, (distributer, HT leads or MAF sensor something like that). Although i hadnt gone through a flood before it cut out.
The car is under dealer warenty but I'm wondering if it would just be a temporary problem, and once electrics have dried out (if thats the problem) it would be ok to drive. I kinda want to take it to the PH show on friday... Not sure if that will be happening now
Any ideas as to what the problem is most likely to be would be really appreciated!
Cheers guys!

Sounds more like some sort of electrical failure. Failure of the AFM is rarely as sudden as you describe (although possible!)
Assume temp gauge ok? No overheating? - does sound a bit like Head Gasket Failure. This is unlikely as the thermostat failsafe is to stay open rather than closed, but you never know.

Hi sounds like the AFM to me, check it's not become unplugged, if its plugged in then disconnect and see if this helps.
I have a 156 V6 i think its in the same place...
Look at the Airfilter housing, it should be after this in the plastic intake tubing. It's a round piece of pipe with a small electrical wire and connection that plugs into it on the lefthandside of the pipe. It's this connection that you need to disconnect to see if this improves the running. It will only improve a bit, still wont run like before, but if it does inprove then you know what bit to replace. You can change this easily yourself in about 30 mins if you have never done it before. The bit is about £130 and stay away from the cheap copys on Ebay (around £60) they are rhubarb.
