Has anyone out there got any advice on buying a replacement exhaust for the 3.0 V6 GTV? I've had the car a few weeks and would like to free up a few horses and also make it sound a bit more fruity.

I've seen loads of different types and specs and wondered what everyone else is fitting. I'm not too bothered on asthetics although I do quite like the look of some of the quad pipe 'zorsts' but wondered if there is any modification required to the rear valance/under bumper?

Secondly, If I can get away with it, I'd like to just fit the rear section (money don't grow on trees you know !). Is this false economy or can I get a rear section which will give me what I want without changing the entire system.

I do plan on changing the air filter to the Autodelta 'sport' filter. If I do will I be angering the "Air Flow Meter" gods??

Cheers

Don't know (never done it) but I do hear Ragazzon mentioned a lot.

INE but I'd have thought you'd need to replace the whole thing with something less restrictive if you're after a few extra bhp. Just doing the rear will probably tick the 'noise' and 'looks' boxes, though, and if you're on a budget the minimal extra oomph gained from an entire system might not be value for money.

The odds do suggest that messing with the filter in the V6 may likely land you with AFM woes.

As long as the filter isn't an oil based one like the K+Ns you shouldn't have any problems with the AFM. Apparently the oil used to help trap particles upsets the HC reading or something in the AFM and it mucks up the mixture too much.

However, a lot of aftermarket sports filters for the GTV seem to only fit the TS airbox properly, allowing damage to the AFM from ingested debris in the V6.

I changed the rear section of mine to a Ragazzon straight through section(takes out 2 silencers) and it sounded a lot nicer, when the centre section went I replaced it with a Ragazzon silenced centre section and it now sounds superb, without being too loud, it also seems to breathe better and revs even more freely than before. The exhaust seems good quality and fitted well.

I have a Ragazzon silenced centre section and twin pipe on my 147 GTA. It looks and sounds great. It is rather dirty in this pic though.

Have a look on youtube for some sound and video clips of different exhausts. Note though that Autodelta apparently use Ragazzon exhausts.

I also have an Autodelta air filter (rather than the full air intake).

I got them both fitted together and the car sounds fantastic now. Never a tunnel goes by where the window fails to come down ; ) I have also noticed a slight improvement in power in high gears at low speeds.

I've put a Supersprint backbox and silenced centre section on my 156 GTA and it sounds fantastic. Its hardly any louder when cruising but a lovely deep note at idle and great when pushing on.

I have a full Alfaholics SS exhaust fitted to my GTV TS. They do one for the V6 and if it is anything like the one I have got then it is sensational.

I think its Max who I dealt with at Alfaholics.

I have a used Auto Delta one for sale which would have cost about £350 new, it is in as new condition, make me an offer if this is of interest.

Ned,

Just catching up on this thread. Is your Autodelta exhaust still for sale?

Thanks
