I was drving my GTA this morning and the EOBD warning light came on for about 10 seconds (warning light looks like a small engine).

Its the first time that it has come on.

I checked the manuel and it looks like it is a fault in the supply / ignition system which could cause high emmissions at the exhaust and high fuel consumption.

I have noticed over the last month or two that there is a hell of alot of exhaust emmissions when I first start the car for about 5 minutes and the fuel consumption has been quite high.

A lot more emmissions than any other car I have ever owned.

Does anybody know what needs to be done to get the problem resolved or have experienced the same problem.

Obvious question - What is the damage going to be to get the problem resolved.

I had that message flash up once for about a minute after starting, then it went. Had no problems at all, although I hadn't noticed any odd characteristics like you have. I'd get it checked out.

If the light came on it should have logged a fault code so if you can get it to someone with an Examiner they can download it and find out what it is. Probably a sensor which has gone down.

Cheers for the responses guys.

Taking it to a guy with the software so will get the codes checked out.

I'll keep you updated.

That came up on mine (and stayed on) and it turned out to be a faulty lambda sensor which I had replaced for about £200 IIRC.

If yours hasn't stayed on I don't think there is a problem.
