locking mechanism failure on gtv!!
Discussion
Did it do this when it was a very cold?
Sometimes the locks go out of sync (you can see the little door pin move slightly when you press the key fob).
What you need to do is manually open both the doors, then press the key fob (the locks are then synch'd up).
Did this once before on my GTV when I washed it the day before and overnight the car froze.
Could also be a blown fuse?

Hi,
Is it still giving you trouble?
The remote locking on my 156 has stopped working recently. Boot release is still fine from the key fob but I have to use the key to lock/unlock the doors. It started to get a bit troublesome, sometimes needing a few presses before opening and then just gave up altogether. Found some posts on a 156 forum recommending an AR owners club member who offers a repair service on eBay replacing the microswitches and checking the condition of the solder/circuit board. He only does 147/156 keys but mentions another guy on eBay who can do the 145/146/GTV keys.
Google 'alfa romeo key repair' - 1st hit is the 156 guy's ebay listing and if you scroll down you can find a post on a 145 forum mentioning both.
I was quoted £200 for a new key from dealer so I'll probably give the guy a go - unfortunately I only have one key so need to wait until I can do without the car for a few days.
