Basically one of the cars that I might get is a 166 2.0 TS. All I really wanted to know is that how much does a full tank cost, and how many miles will it do to a tank? I do mostly town driving, with a few longer distance trips.

Driven carefully on mixed use you MIGHT get 350 miles from a tank.

I drive the 2.5 V6 I'll get 400-440 miles

The tank is 72L (Massive)

I'm guessing the 156 has a smaller tank.

Sounds closer to my 156 V6 tank size, can get near 400 on a long run but short runs can be only up to 280 !! I'm pretty sure it's not a 72l tank anyway...

Just filled my 2.5 V6, got 280 miles out of 57.1 ltr of V-power with cross country stop-start and town commuting (which I make 22.3 mpg). The 2.0l should be a little better than that.

TBH I wanted the 3.0l version, the economy figures are pretty close to the 2.5 and the 3l versions tend to be better spec. Still, its one hell of a car with any engine in it.

Note that my 22.3 mpg figure is pretty much in line with what the trip computer says. If you find a 2.0l car to poke around...

press the "Trip" button under the screen, twiddle the right hand knob to select the third entry from the top (from memory, but I think that one is right) and press the knob to select. That should display long term figures, so you can see what the last owner got from the car. You have to tell the ICS to reset that data (and I certainly never bother) so that will probably give the overall consumption since the last time the battery was disconnected.

You've got the telphone system!

They are rare and I've never seen one on a 2.5

lol, nope not me. That is a link to the photo on wikipedia.

Mine doesn't even have a CD player. Must get one of those MP3 things to plug in the boot.

I have decided I really want one... 350 miles will last me about a month to 5 weeks becuase I walk/ride to work so I can stomach (sort of) the fuel costs.

If you are doing low miles Then there isn't much of a cost diffrence between the T-spark and the V6.

Get the V6! You know you want to!

Discussion last night went along these lines;

Me - "Just under 1/4 of a tank over 2 weeks, that's pretty good"

Mate - "Oh blimey yeah, not bad going at all, I remember you filling it up - so how many miles is that?"

Me - "Um......about 65....."

Him - "Ouch!!!"

Me - "Yeah but I cycle to and from work and it's used for weekends and shopping etc, so I don't tend to worry about mileage. if I'm only filling up once a month/5 weeks, that's good enough for me!"

Buy a V6 - you won't regret it! (I've not worked out running costs, thankfully tax is still £200 and insurance £250)
