Alfa Romeo GT Junior
Discussion
I bought mine 2 months ago. Loving it! The Juniors are more reasonable in price because they are slightly less desirable than the 1750 or 2000GTV. I reached a happy medium and got a Junior with a 2.0 engine fitted.
There is the obvious pitfalls of a 70's Alfa but if you search out a good one it will bring much joy!

Ooh, there are some nice ones there. That is a great way to buy one if you are brave enough.
If you are considering buying one from Italy then it may be worth talking to Mario at www.alfaromeoclassicconections.com He specialises in going to Italy and bringing them back

Love to but remember reading about someone doing it with something similar & it seemed very complicated - something to do with how cars are owned in Italy + tax etc. Guess you'd need a reliable Italian as you've mentioned - I'd prefer LHD hence probably better off abroad. Guess any "in country" saving would soon be wipped out by HMRC inport duties though. There are no import duties or VAT (of any kind) if you buy it in from an EU member state. They only apply if the car is less than 6 months old or less than 6,000km.http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/vat/consumers-vehicle.htm.
I bought my Lancia from Italy and just used a reputable UK company (Rudler)to bring it back on a lorry. Easy and no hassle, cost about £1k delivered to my door.
Yes, very well priced especially with 28k on the clock. Beginning to think I should have bought yours instead of mine particularly as I spent an hour in the cold this afternoon waiting for an RAC low loader! The mount that the front suspension spring sits on corroded and the spring drop on the road with a thud, grind and cloud of dust!
Theres a lot to be said for a solid Alfa like yours! Good luck
