146 clutch slave cylinder advice
Discussion
Hello guys and girls, my girlfriends clutch on her 146 2.0 ti has started playing up. Not disengaging properly resulting in crunching gear changes. I think it is the slave cylinder as the rubber boot on it is slightly damp with fluid.
Questions are:
1. How easy to change for a person with ok mech skills.
2. Any special advice with regards to bleeding, I believe the brakes and clutch share fluid.
3. I have just replaced the front brakes (disc and pads), could this effect the clutch system, (i.e air in system)
I have no workshop manual so a bit in the dark realy.
Any advice welcome before I buy a new bit and embark on fitting it. ( I hope it is maybe an airlock and can be bled)
Look forward to hearing from you all.

2) Nah. Just bleed as normal.
3) Shouldn't do. Clamp the hose before/during work, and then bleed the clutch through thoroughly.
'tis not that bad a job. The hardest bit is wrestling with the hose/union when refitting, and of course the bleeding, which I always find a chore
The relevant workshop manual can be found on alfa145.com.At a guess, a couple of hours tops including a teabreak and the inevitable faffing. BUT, as ever, draw it out for longer for added man points, to be redeemed later.

Its still doing it! I have fitted a new slave cylinder, checked the master for leakes, bled the system down and made sure all the nuts and bolts were nipped up. But it still crunches going into reverse and the gear selection is not as smooth as before the troubles started.
It is weird this all started up when I changed the brakes on the front. Can air be getting in from there somehow?
Realy lost for ideas at the moment.
