147 mjtd 2004 no heat and its heading for winter ARRRGGGHHHHHHHH
when the dial is moved from hot to cold and vice versa no motor movement can be heard......all other controls work fine although the control panel does not light up when car lights are turned on.....connected?....probably not.......im thinking its probably the motor itself.....but after a quick inspection i cant find the motor....im assuming its fairly well hidden in the depths of the dash......

does anyone have experience of removing or even getting to this valve? is there a dedicated fuse or relay for this function? have tried and failed to find a wiring diagram of any sort.

any help would be greatly appreciated guys.....thanks in advance

On a 156 if it's the fan which has stopped working it's usually the resistor mounted near the fan motor. I would imagine it would be the same on a 147. Never been in there myself though! Good luck with it, it's flipping freezing at the minute!

Slightly lateral thinking - is the thermostat ok? Common fault, meaning that the car engine doesn't heat up enough to get the heater up to proper working temp...

yeah thermostats ok and both hoses to the heater unit are hot.....so im thinkin its the motor that controls the heater valve.....i just dont know where this is or how to get to it.........

apparently the temperature distribution valve is under the scuttle trim at the base of the windscreen, however if the lights on the control panel are down, check the fuse!
