All, just moved to Guildford, trying to track down an independent alfa garage in the guildford or wider surrey area . Anyone know of one? Searches on google have so far been unsuccessful. Thanks!

There's Ken Bell (Alfanatic) in Fleet.

I have a very low opinion of the main dealer in Guildford (Bishops).

I used to use these guys:

Very knowledgeable, lots of second hand parts. I think the former owner, Mike Buckler, has now retired, but they are worth a try.

And another Rusper recommendation - used as they were closest to where I was working at the time, but I'd consider making the extra trip down there for future work.

I use SPM in Byfleet. Not Alfa specialists per se, but extremely good technically and great customer service. They do all the work on my 147 twinspark, and have always done a great job, and I am always surprised at the low prices when I get the bill. Call Steve Munday on 01932 356128.

They always have other interesting cars in the workshop.

And yes, the local Guildford dealer is shocking, in my experience.

Another vote for Rusper. Stay away from the Guildford dealers, they're horrendous.

Another vote for Ken Bell (Alfanatic) in Fleet. Used to take my 75TS there and he always had an interesting selection of Alfas in for work. Fairly priced and a nice chap to boot.

MDZ Italtec in Charlwood(At the end of the Gatwick Runway).

The guy has an old Fiat 500 with an Uno turbo engine in it..........

He's very good. Rebuilt my Boxer 16v like a craftsman.

Try Wayne at EMC Racing in Reigate, specialises in 75's, SZ's and GTV's but caters for all Alfa's...

Just bringing this one back up again. I live just south of guildford and my 156 is due a service - Rusper seem a popular choice but any others in addiiton to the above to recommend otherwise I will book it in with them.

thanks

I'm now on my forth Alfa, and having used most of the Indy's around Surrey/ Sussex, I wouldn't go anywhere other than MDZ in Charlewood. They are very knowledgeable, friendly and don't rip you off. When I was there last year, they were working on the switches within a selespeed box, which the main dealer couldn't figure out. I've been putting together a website for them recently, so you can get the details from there:

Anyone know how much a minor service(just fluids an filters) will be for a 147 2.0 TS at Alfanatics? Just realised my car needs a service in 100 miles and a pair of rear tyres!

Next month will be expensive.

Was just interested to hear, I'll call him up tomorrow.

He charges £50 an hour labour I think.

I would guess it would be under £200 all in?
