Lancia Integrale EVO1
Discussion
looking at buying an EVO1 over the next couple of weeks & was wondering if anyone has any pointers on a buying guide, what to look out for etc.
I know I want an EVO as the bucket seats are an essential for where I live.
Is there a definitive guide somewhere on the web? have had a look with the search engine on PH but not much info really.
Or if anyone has any tips based on experience here then that would be

Hi there,
Special editions aside (Verde York, Martini cars) it's the EVO2 that has Recaro hi-back bucket seats as standard.
For all the information and tips you head over to the Evocorner Forum at www.delphifoums.com.
It's well worth doing a bit of digging and go in with your eyes open.
Still despite a fair amount of money I haven't looked back and still smile whenever I open the garage.
Jamie.

Thanks for the info, will try the seats that come with the Evo 1 & see how I get on, dont see the value in an Evo 2, can always source some Evo 2 seats I guess as I live right by Italy. Eyes wide open on the running costs, already run a Maserati which pops clutches every 15k miles at £2500 a go, so used to big bills.Special editions aside (Verde York, Martini cars) it's the EVO2 that has Recaro hi-back bucket seats as standard.

Do you think a large amount of the big bills for the Grale are because of the import side of things? be interesting to get some prices down here for servicing, clutches, suspension etc

will check out Delphi too, thx

Servicing and parts aren't really that much more than any other similar performance car to be honest, but they just suffer particuarly bad if neglected. Parts are easily available from a range of specialists thoughout the country.
One thing that does require regular attention is the belts; the cambelt is very skinny and requires replacement every 20k or 2 years. Personnally, I wouldn't leave it that long though TBH...
When viewing undertake a thorough inspection for corrosion, check the history for regular bills (if there's a recent gap, expect a windfall of expenditure!), oil pressure (should be approx 6-7bar when cold, 3-4 bar when hot moving, around 1 bar hot idle), smoke from the zorst and any oddities in the drivetrain.
If its a well cared for car, all should be good
