156 front suspension noise

All,

Creaking noise from front left corner.

Changed the upper wishbone on the rhs recently but this is a different noise.

I'm thinking it's maybe a cracked spring?

Any other suggestions? There doesn't appear to be any play in the wheel like there would be with the wishbone being shot.

could be anti-rollbar bushes about to start knocking or linkages?

With the Alfa wishbones they tend to squeak but tend not to have any play! (typical!) so it will pass an MOT but drive the owner mad.

Check lower wishbones and anti roll bars, as well as drop links!

^agree^ + don't be surprised if it takes a wee while to track it down. Mine has had creaks & groans, + a weird "shopping trolley castoring feeling". I've done the drop-links, top & bottom wishbones, anti-roll bar, & fitted a top strut brace & Bilstein shocks. Each step made it slightly better, it's finally superb, so it was worth the effort (the warranty covered most of it, eBay most of the rest.) It's been an interesting voyage...

Yep, if you want it to shut up - no if you'd rather have the cash! If yep, don't be too surprised if it doesn't end there, though...
