As we all like to hear good reports of the professionals we deal with in our pursuit of Integrale pleasure, I have to say I've been dealing with Zagato in London over the last few days and yunno they seem really friendly, and more importantly knowledgeable.

Their not afraid to say it as it is.... and I for 1 really like that.

Check em out...

I have to say that about 10 years ago I had a major problem with my Integrale in Central London, I managed to limp it across to the nearest dealer - being Zagato's. I had spoken to them on the way over explaining the problem and as it was close to closing time they assured me that someone would wait to take delivery of the car. When I arrived (about 6pm) it was all locked up and no one was there. So I parked the car up outside the back and went for a walk to clear my head whilst I thought what to do - ie: leave the car overnight and post the keys through the letter box/dump it/set fire to it, etc, etc smile

Anyway, for some unknown reason (maybe fate) I tried to call Walkers, bearing in mind it was well past 7pm by this time. To my surprise Steve answered the phone, and I explained the symptoms. He confirmed my worst thoughts and advised that I would need to get it to a local specialist, maybe Whalley's or Richard Thorne, but when I said I was outside Zagato's, I could almost hear him gulp/see his face drop. He said whatever I do, wherever I take it, just don't leave it there.

Needless to say, after a bit more of a 'chat', the Integrale was on the back of a low loader in the middle of the night on it's way to Northallerton. A couple of weeks later all was sorted and my wallet hadn't taken too much of a kick-in.

I have only heard very bad things about that garage, although they are fine for mail order parts.

I'm not going to sg them off on here, or tell anyone else to avoid them, but i have learned my lesson from dealing with them, their ok for stickers and badges, but that's about it as far as i'm concerned.

Bought my car from them, (with worthless warranty) but had to spend a lot to get it right.

Hmmmmm...thanx guys. Must admit I have only ordered parts from them and not had my P&J worked on by them, but I now have to reconsider my options.

I was going to take her to them to have my cambelt changed. They quoted me £450-£500 inc new bearings and labour etc. I live in Norfolk and don't want to travel too far to get it done. Anyone got ideas of garages closer than Walkers and of prices etc?

Thanks again guys for possibly saving me major DRAMA!!!eek

Hi there,

If you live in Norfolk and were considering London then you really should go to John Whalleys in Bishops Stortford near Stansted. He's regarded as being on a par with Walkers for reputation and they really do know integrales. Mind you he'll talk you to death given half a chance!

Jamie.

I only go to Auto Integrale now (at Aldermaston near Reading), he has downsized some, but is superb and very reliable.

I had to get my head gasket done by him 2 months after the "specialists" in London supposedly changed it.....it looked like an origional item!!!

Surely when dealing with specialist cars you should be more worried about the capability of the mechanics and the reputation of the garage then their website?!
confused

Whalley's website is over 10 years old, but he is generally well respected, and he is a top bloke.

Zagato's have a dreadful reputation. I wouldn't have let them anywhere near mine, in fact I wouldn't let them work on any car.

Keith at Auto Integrale on the other hand is excellent

Hi Neil,

Funnily enough even though I pass Whalleys everyday and they are very well respected specialists I find they are a larger concern and a little less personal if you know what I mean but there is absolutely no doubt as to the quality of their work. For smaller jobs and service items I use them all the time but... for all bigger work I use Keith at AI. I didn't mention him due to the distance you wouldd have to travel from Norfolk. Bear in mind that he downsized last year and so you have to give him a call as he no longer works out of a large premises. I also feel that the other main advantage with Keith is that it's him who actually works on your car and so you get to talk to the actual guy doing the work if you see what I mean a bit more personal.

Hope this helps, Jamie.

If you are in Norfolk speak to Omicron (Mulbarton outside Norwich). Not acknowledged integrale specialists as the other firms mentioned (older Lancias is their forte and reputation) but they do do work on integrales, so maybe worth a call.

Thanks nc107 - I did call them but they never called me back!. I have booked in with Whalleys next week and will report back with how I get on. They sounded good guys, but then I said that about Zagato (Although in fairness Zagato have been good for parts to be fair to them)
