Hi guys,

Took the little car out for a spin in the sunshine today, all was well until she stalled at the traffic lights.

Luckily was at the top of a hill and I managed to bump start her.

What is the cause of my hot starting problems?Any ideas?

Not an expert on the 500, but normal causes of hot-start problems are fuel vaporisation. The fuel lines running too close to somewhere hot. That or flooding; had an old rover once my Dad had to put a clamp on the fuel line for hot starting...

Fuel vaporisation is one of the causes, but not so common on the 500. Usually on the classic 500/126 this is put down either to incorrectly set points, tappets or timing. You will find lots of help on this and many other issues on the 500club UK forum:-

as well as on the 126 club forum:

Lots of extremely helpful and friendly people on there.

Hope this is of some help?
