Using a trolley jack on a Spider?
Discussion
Hi Chaps,
Went out to swap the wheels front to back on my 3.0V6 Spider (Phase II) and looking underneath it wasn't immediately obvious where to stick it! There are jacking point arrows on the sills front and rear but last time I tried there I succeeded in distorting the seam of metal that runs along the underside of the sill
- My usual preference is to put it under the suspension points but there didn't seem to be anywhere obvious to lift it on.
It seems to me that the jacking points are designed to be used with a scissors jack, probably with a slot in the top to engage into the seam on the sill but my car came with a can of Tyre-Weld (or the Alfa equivalent of such) and no jack!
Any thoughts anyone?
Rich...
p.s. where has the old GTVV6 chat forum gone to? I can't seem to find it anymore, has it deceased?
