I really like my RZ. A lot. There are lots of better cars, there are lots of faster cars, there are lots of more prestigious cars, but after 11 years there's nothing that makes me want to change it.
Except I keep thinking about this:
Now I don't know an awful lot about these - I would say it was a GTa Junior 1300, but I might be wrong. And sometimes when I idly google for these, I see ones with skinnier wings, not the rounded bulging ones that this has, so what is the difference?
So what exactly is it, and should I be thinking about swapping the RZ for one?

It's a GTAm as opposed to the slimline GTA.
Personally I prefer the GTA but who am I to argue style with an RZ owner?
Genuine ones are hideously expensive (as are GTAs) but they do crop up occassionally:

I would imagine it's the wrong side of £40,000 though, but you never know.
You do see replicas as the wings are available to rivet onto standard cars. The one shown at the show is slightly odd though as it has the Stepfront front end where as a GTAm should have a 1750 front end (like the Alfaholics car) as the GTAm racers (GT America) were based on standard 1750 GTVs like mine.
So, slim or wide. The choice is yours! The driving experience will feel "older" than the RZ - less oomph, no power steering, thinner tyres, but is still hugely enjoyable nevertheless. All the 105s are five speed and disk brakes all round so a good basis for modding into a fast road or track car.

Genuine cars are alot more than £40k unfortunately. £60 + seem to be the market for good cars, the best even more and "ex works" cars probably more still.
There was a "non-genuine" car for sale at H&H recently:

Price seems very cheap to me but then it is quite a notorious car with a rather dodgy history. But probably a good buy if the price is true.

Thanks for that. £40k was more what I thought they'd be - at £60k, I suspect I'm getting less serious about it all the time. jamieboy said:

NAD's near York this year- all the southerners are getting their big girl's blouses in a tangle about how far north it is.I'm hoping to get to the centenary too. Not sure what's going on yet. Has anything been announced?
