Hi all,

Well, as the title states I'm thinking of buying a Lancia Delta Integrale & want to ask you guys a couple of questions.

Any things I have to look out for when viewing the car?

Can it be used as a daily driver (4 Times a week Maximum)? Is it a useable car?

How's the fuel consumption?

Finally, do you recommend it? Or is it past it's age?

Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Daniel from Malta

Just uprate your intercooler because of the climate there. Git! :-)

Used mine as a fairly driver, 5 days a week, shopping to Tescos and running up and down the country to see friends & family.
Absolutely fine.

Fuel consumption.
Er...dont ask. They drink fuel. A lot. Especially the turbo is used. 20ish...and that ish covers a wife range!

Are they past it?
No. Loved mine.

Buy!

Mine was used every day, for everything. smile

Harder to answer. I loved mine, but it's 11 years since I sold it and although it didn't feel "past it" back then, it is definitely a car from a previous era - that's probably as much a good thing as it is bad.

The other thing is that a lot of them now are pretty tired, so I'd worry that the ones that look affordable could really be a money pit...I think you need to buy much more carefully now than in the past.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm seriously thinking about it. The thing is that at first I was thinking about getting an Evo 6, but then a guy told me what better way to get the same performance but with a bit more pride then go for an Integrale? Do you agree?

And also, is it true that girls HATE the Integrale? rage

Many Thanks,

Daniel smile

Thanks. Will try & find it at the stationery.

Is it true that once you buy an Italian Car, you get kind of hooked on the whole Italian thing?

You might be able to see it on the autoitalia website too.

Well I've had 7 Alfas, 2 Fiats and a Lancia in the last 6 or 7 years!

Me sat in car in traffic, bloke walks past with his girlfriend:

Says Him to Her: "Lovely car that"

Me: no acknowledgment but a smug, knowing smile

Her: "What that crappy Golf?"

Me: no acknowledgment but a slightly less smug, knowing smile, while crying inside

Bugger!

And yes, women dislike the Integrale. My wife called it a chav car from the moment I had it.

true about women and the grale. my wife thinks my evo 1 is hideous like an old skoda / golf / 3 series. only recently whilst getting thumbs up from ferrari and lambo drivers (not footballers) has she grudgingly acknowledged it. i'm afraid women just dont get it.

Yep..mine for one. Was off the road whilst I searched for a rear bumper/valence. Eventually got my hands on the only one available in the UK, at Tanc's and that was cracked, so it had to be repaired/remade and painted in my colour. Tanc took the opportunity to make some moulds from the repaired unit to produce some spares as I understand it.

Bodybits for 'Grales are rare as hens teeth.

Well, as the title states I'm thinking of buying a Lancia Delta Integrale & want to ask you guys a couple of questions.

- OK

Any things I have to look out for when viewing the car?

- Everything , get it checked by a pro, complex and old now - beware. First one cost me 10k.... scrapped that and purchased another :-)

Can it be used as a daily driver (4 Times a week Maximum)? Is it a useable car?

- Fine! use mine everyday, no issues at all.

How's the fuel consumption?

- 8mpg, if you have to ask etc

Finally, do you recommend it? Or is it past it's age?

- Best drivers car ever made, simple as that, only the New rally cars will keep up in the wet

Do girls like them...

- If in doubt purchase a Vanquish S or Lambo as well

RUNNING COSTS

- If you want to keep in tip-top and use all the time 3k a year.

THINGS TO CHANGE

- Standard brakes are poor and fade very easy! so replace.

- Leave engine standard, more than enuff power for UK roads

- Light are crap, HID kit needed

- DONT LOWER OR CHANGE SPRINGS

- Put Pilots on the car

Enjoy

Thanks for everything guys, that will surely help me when I go see it next week, & maybe take it for a spin. Probably my Girlfriend will leave me for buying it, but at least I'll be the proud owner of an Integrale ey wink..

Thanks Again,

Is there problems when lowering the car? As I was thinking of lowering it a bit & putting on 18" BBS Alloys.

Lowering it will result in the underbody scraping the ground on compression, unless you fit an aftermarket suspension system to stiffen it up. There are good and bad suspension options, but in order to keep a supple ride whilst having enough ground clearance when "pushing", you'll need something like Ohlins or RSR.

If you must put on larger wheels, don't go over 17 inch.
