My sister has gone out and spontaniusly bought a classic 1972 fiat 500L 599cc. But after going about 5 miles, it cuts out and refuses to start until it has been left overnight.
Can anyone recommend a specialist in the North West who repairs classic fiats?
Mine was doing this.Jimmy at Ital Corsa in Fleet,Hampshire, fitted a new twin spark coil and condenser. Its going fine now. Can anyone recommend a specialist in the North West who repairs classic fiats?
If you have problems finding a suitable garage speak to Jimmy he will know someone up there.

I had a similar problem with my 500R and tried everything I could think of and that which was suggested by various specialists. In the end it would appear that there can be problems with electrical parts from certain countries which don't behave as they should when they get hot. My car would start on the button and run fine until it got hot and then just cut out. When left for about ten minutes it would start and run fine until it got hot again. I changed the coil and condensor more than once and it made no difference. In the end I gave it to a classic specialist and they replaced all of the electrical parts with bits from a trusted source and they think they have cured it. I'm getting the car back tonight, so we'll see!! Hope this helps.
