I thought that I would do my girlfriend's brother-in-law a favour and chnge his winter wheels to his summer ones today. All was going fine until............... CRASH!!

The car slipped on the jack and has bent the metal and cracked the paint just under the little arrows that signify the jacking point.

The car is a standard 1.2 Sport with, it appers, no sideskirts.

Are there any FIAT dealers/personnel who have encountered this problem and could give me a rough idea on the cost to fix it. I will post up some pictures shortly.

Cheers,

Pete

Is the 500 known for 'storing' water in the sills? When the above happened a substantial amount of water escaped through the rubber holes!

The damage is just behind the front wheel by the jacking point. Is that one continuous panel that goes all the way to the back?

I sense this will be expensive. It's the last time I offer to help out with someone else's car!

Will give it a go. Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm just not looking forward to the labour rates they charge in Switzerland!
