Back to Alfa!

After many different cars I'll be back in an Alfa Romeo again in a few days. I placed a deposit on an exceptionally mint 145 Cloverleaf today, still showroom fresh with a mere 23k miles. All under warranty, with a main dealer major service just carried out. Total time warp

Anyone else ever own a 145? I actually went from a new 147 GTA to a 2.0 Cloverleaf a few years ago. Of course the sound wasn't a patch but I much preferred the more involving kart like handling. So after many more expensive and faster modern cars, I have (almost) bought another little kart, making this my third Alfa

It's an X plate, so one of the last cars made I guess. My previous red Cloverleaf was one of the lower mileage around at 45k. So I was very surprised to find this example with half the mileage plus in black too. I only do about 2.5k miles a year too, so it will seem crazy low in another five years time.

It's only just had the cambelt and tensioners service at the dealers, based upon time rather than the miles.

Sounds similar to me, picked up my V reg 146 with only 22k on the clock. Had the cambelt done recently and was told the engine was still like new, so will try to keep it as sweet as possible.

My previous 145 was the first edition in the usual red. I wonder what numbers of each colour were made? From sheer guessing I'd say 90% I've seen in real life were red. I actually struggle to recall even seeing a black 145 on the road come to think of it.

Also, anyone know what changes were made between the original and face lifted 145's? (aside from the bumpers of course)...

I had a late spec 145QV and my 147GTA together for a while last year, so different to drive I would have loved to be able to keep them both.
My 145 was a cracker too, I was sorry to see it go....but needs must.

Chrome rings on the dials, Sony stereo, standard air con, bumpers, wheels, roof spoiler, 155bhp plastic top engine (actually came in before the new bumpers). Not sure if the suspension was slightly higher too. Can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Unfortunatley we never got the facelift centre console fitted to LHD cars which had round centre air vents and modernised the inside a bit.
