2.4jtd loss of power
Discussion
My re mapped jtd had been running beautifully until yesterday when it suffered an almost total loss of power below 3000 rpm. My local garage identified the fault as being the air flow regulator sensor, with a possible query on the exhaust regulator valve. When the codes were cleared, the fault seemed to disappear, although I would not say the throttle response is quite as sharp as it was before the fault occurred.
The solution seems to be to buy a new AFR, but Alfa are quoting £320 for the part and won't release the part number.
Does anyone know if there is a cheaper alternative?
Also with regard to the exhaust regulator, the garage I use has had a spate of problems with vehicles of all makes, concerning this component (25 in recent weeks). The common factor between them being the use of diesel from Tescos. Their own fleet of vehicles has been similarly affected. Although the evidence is anecdotal, it would be intereting to hear from anyone else who has had problems concerning the use of diesel from Tescos.

EGR valves work in an incredibly harsh environment, and are a very common failure on virtually all manufacturers cars (including petrol) which is why blanking them off is such a popular modification. I highly doubt the choice of fuel vendor has a significant effect.Gassing Station | Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
