156 Wheel camber
Discussion
Hi,
My partners car is due an MOT soon, and surprise surprise, all 4 tyres are worn below the legal limit. They are all, front and rear wearing on the inside shoulder. We were warned of this before buying the car that 156's tend to do this, but just wanted to check is this normal? It is a 156 veloce 2.4jtd sportwagon. I seem to recall eharing something that the original factory geometry means they have a lot of camber, but can this be recitifed without any adverse handling effects or am i barking up the wrong tree?
Regarding tyre tread legal limit it is my understanding that this has changed from 1.6mm on 75% of tyre to 1.6mm on 100%. Is this correct?
Also any ideas how much new dampers and springs would set us back?
Thanks in advance.

Chris, have a look here under "Running Gear"

It is very common for the tracking to be out on these cars, even from new. It would be worth getting confirmation from someone who knows what they are on about (e.g. Jamie Porter above) as to what you should be running at and then get it setup properly.

Hi, 4 new tyres yesterday and had the tracking done. The rear was a bit out initialy but the front was fine. The technician put the back right which then put the front out. So had that sorted too. Hopefully this set of tyres might last a bit longer.
The software on the tracking machine said camber not adjustable for front and rear. Is this true?
