Other half has a GTV and it's just failed MOT on rear suspension bushes. Has been quoted £400 (all in, labour, bits, mot, vat etc) to put it right.

Understand this is a common failing but have no idea what it costs to sort. Does the price mentioned seem in the right ballpark?

Thanks

Someone more expert than me will be along shortly, however having just bought a GTV I've been genning up on it.

You can either replace with standard Alfa bits (at large cost) or powerflex the rear. If you go the official route the parts will simply wear out again and need to be replaced. However if you powerflex it then they should last another 100k miles.

Autolusso charge 400 to supply and fit powerflex so you're in the ballpark, its just a case of what you would rather have done.

please don't get sucked into the powerflex bo-lox.
yes they don't wear out, but they also don't allow the passive rear steering of the GTV, messing with the handling.
400 sounds ok, as long as everything is included (vat etc) not the cheapest though.

Yeah, seems to go against the grain found on alfaowner anyway. Like I say, I'm no expert, just feeling my way so far.

What he said!!

The general consensus on alfa owner seems to be these are more durable and also improve the handling!!
