Bernard Sousa's Abarth Punto S2000 stunned crowds this weekend by finishing 15th in this years Rally GB.
Sousa's fantastic Abarth sounded like an angry chainsaw as it cut through the tricky Welsh stages beating the Skoda S2000 car of Sandell and WRC Ford Focus entrants of Dennis Kuipers and Works driver Khalid Al Qassimi.
Humble pie for the irritating female commentator who made an ill advised (FIAT - fix it again tomorrow) joke.

Good stuff. Great looking car - but can they actually see anything out of those mirrors?!

(Not that you probably need to very often on a rally...)

They are working from normal Italian mantra that 'items in the rear view mirror are loosing'biggrin

I've not heard or seen an S2000 car in full flight by I've heard they sound better and offer better entertainment than the current crop of WRC cars, mind you I've also heard that isn't difficult either.

Something needs to bring some spark of interest back in to world rallying, hopefully cars like the Punto will do that when the WRC regs finally die.
