gear stick not centreing

as the titile says really. when the gearstick is pushed to the left, it doesn't spring back to the centre. gear changing seems fine though.

it's a 2001 147 1.6 by the way.

Fairly common problem. Cant remember what causes it despite being told. Alfa specialist know how to sort it. Not a cheap job though I've got a feeling- a few hours work. Where are you based?

if it's not critical, it can stay like that to be honest.

I think it's straightforward .. happened on my V6 spider and they replace a bit while I waited (it's part of the top linkage I think)

Happened on my GTV a while back when I hadn't been driving it much. However, it got better all by itself once I started doing a few more miles.

Yeah its the linkages.

They can be regreased by yourself fairly easily.
