......thought it would feel quicker to be honest.

Looking for the replacement for the 500 1.2 I currently have & I have to say after driving the Abarth I didn't get the "I have to have it" feeling.

Felt solid, actually felt a bigger car than my 500, but I guess that's down to the improved suspension setting offering more body control, but something was missing for a $13,500 hot hatch, didn't feel very 'raw'.

Did you have the sport button on? wink

Try the esseesse before you dismiss, it gives the car that edge.

Do they not cost around £18000?

Yep, that's Clio Sport money. Or a decently specced Mito.

The MIto does not enter into it and Clio's are not as good an overall package. I'd have the Abarth over my old Trophy every time.

Abarth 500 with the Essesse kit is £16,100.

I'll repeat what someone else said, was the Sport button off?

To be fair I drove a 500 Abarth (not the Essesse) and, incidentally, a Clio Sport 200 before I decided on the MiTo - it just felt "different" and I preferred the whole package, though I guess it was pricier so I bloody well should have :P

Plus £250 for "special paint" (e.g. anything other than white), £100 for graphics, £700 for leather, £500 for a sunroof etc.
