It's a Cat D accident repair job. There's a load of info on the Alfa Owner forum here and here

OMG thanks Judas, found this on one of the links..

Was mine, contacting new owner now!

For info, i was moving at 2mph when a granny in a C3 came flying down road and whacked the wheel / bumper. Dont know why the glass was broke, never looked like that when it went to the breakers, i remember they didnt treat it very well, lifting it up and moving it around with a fork lift.......

My bodyshop stop estimating when the cost got to over £5000!

As a trader, shouldn't "Just Alfa" be declaring the status? Assuming they'd HPI'd the car of course...

Hey, I'm the new owner of this car, bought from Just Alfa, they seem to have done a decent job of restoring it, although I wasn't fully aware of the extent of the previous damage before I bought it. It does seem to have a problem with the speedo, sometimes it doesnt accurately measure my speed, it laggs behind by about 20mph. If I stop at some light for example it seems to get itself right again and measures properly. If anyone has any ideas what the problem could be it would be appreciated. Also if anyone has any questions about the car I'd be happy to help with them.

Cheers,

Andy

Your car should still be under warranty if purchased from a trader, give them a chance to fix it (for free of course!).

The only thing I can think of is that the speedo has been changed at some point and a speedo from a TS has been fitted instead.

Can't you get them to fix it? As a dealer haven't they got an obligation to be upfront about such damage?
I bought a 145 Cloverleaf that turned out to be a polished turd and ended up getting a full refund.
Have you spoken to JA about it yet?

I've been meaning to get around to doing that but haven't had the chance yet. They seem like decent people so I doubt there'd be a problem with them sorting it out. Thanks for the help guys.
