GTV for a grand?
Discussion
I suppose like with anything you can be lucky or unlucky! For a grand, I am of the opinion you are taking a bit of a punt.
Try and make sure that the cambelt has been recently done (well, as recent as you can get) as even on a twinny this at a specialist this can still be £300).
Check out this buying guide as this summarises far better than I can what you need to look out for!

I have noticed that 2.0 Alfa GTV can now be had for one large.
Is it going to be a bad bad idea buying one that cheap? What are the running costs like?
Matt.
i bought mine for a grand... owners club car and its been absoloutly superb!! Is it going to be a bad bad idea buying one that cheap? What are the running costs like?

done 16k miles with no problems at all. Only just doing a few mot issues now, rear brakes and front tyres. If your looking at a TS look at the rear suspension, ideally it will have had the rear bushes replaced.... mine has been polybushed.
im thinking of selling mine in a few months...

i rung this guy a couple of days ago and he had sold his car a couple of weeks back - he seemed astonished it had taken so long to shift which might be a reflection on the fact the price seemed too good to be true. clearly £1200 ono means a grand in cash me thinks!
i'd have snapped it up myself if it had still been around (but on the plus side I have today bought a V6 GTV!)...
