About 14 months ago, my GTA was hit by another driver at a T junction on the off-side rear. Minor collision with cosmetic damage only (at least I thought so) and all sorted fairly quickly through the other party's insurance, no problem.

However, today it's come to my attention that the off-side rear tyre has worn badly on the inside and is infact bald and totally illegal. I've had this car 5.5 years and never had this problem before, the rear tyres normally last ages. I've only done a few thousand miles too since the accident as I've not worked since (unrelated!)

Going to call the Alfa garage tomorrow to get it checked out, but if it is a result of the accident, what are the chances of getting it repaired and new tyres from the original insurance claim or has it been too long? Should I contact the insurers first.

As I'm out of work at the moment, could really do without this, but can't risk 3 points for the illegal tyre...

give the insurance company a call.... see what they say? if you can prove it with an engineers report. i guess you could go back to teh original repairer - as they obviously didnt fix it very well!
