Apparently the Lancia Thema 8-32 can have the twin spark heads from an Alfa Romeo 155 fitted and the 8-32 fits Alfa Romeo gear boxes.

Has anyone herd of this before?

Would there be any issue with one of the heads running backwards?

Would a twin ECU set up be usable so only one bank works for the school run and both bank for the track (like the 300C Hemi only with a manual switch)?

Just an idea I had for an Alfa Romeo GTV8. smile

I'd be surprised if the Alfa heads fitted - the Lancia has got a Ferrari block hasn't it?

That's what I thought, but appently the Thema 8/32 engine is what they based the later twin cams on. Probably inaccurate to say the least.

Why??? Do you really think that Ferrari messed up the head design so badly that fitting the wrong head would make an improvement?

That sounds like a ton of effort & expense for something that, given that by modern standards quite low power output of the 8.32 engine & even if it was an improvement, would still be slower than a stock 3.0 24v Alfa V6.

As for running one bank, ISTR that is done in the Honda V6 design using the cam variator to switch the valves to always closed. You can't just turn the spark & fuel off to those cylinders as you would then get pumping losses from that bank still giving you severe engine breaking.
