The alarm/immobiliser/door button on my 156 GTA key fob failed on Friday disabling my car. The button seemed to just sink into the fob so I could not turn off the immobiliser. A bit inconvenient as I was 30 miles from home!
Called local Alfa dealer for a price for a new one - £311
THREE HUNDRED & ELEVEN pounds for a sodding car key??? Best not lose the spare one now I guess...

Hi had a similar problem with our key (156 2.4 SW). The microswitch breaks from the small circuit board. You can fix this yourself (but very, very fiddly), or do what I did and send to a guy on ebay. From memory he charges £23.50. Username zaksystems.
He was very good, efficient and great communication.
Now I need to do the other key ... typical!

Sadly neither of them could fix my key, so I'm off to the dealership when I get home :-(
Ring around a few breakers, or look on e-bay for the key housing and internals, then get your key blade put in (you can do that!) and have it coded to your car... Still main dealer, but re-coding is £80-£120 IIRC and a key should be no more than £15-£20 from e-bay or breakers....HTH

I'll give it a bash - cheers.
