Considering a GTV JTS
Discussion
Well the possibility of buying the new Focus ST (XR5 here in Oz) has all but evaporated so my brain went along the lines of something a bit more out of the ordinary and hence I've ended up here.
Am off to see a 2004 GTV with the 2.0JTS engine (lovely red body and black leather) and although I've had scroll through many of the pages, and done a quick search, can't find any info on this particular combination. Loads on the TS or V6 but little on the JTS.
So, can anybody enlighten me on the good/bad of running one of these. The body, size, feel etc is well documented but what about the 2.0 JTS - any good, reliable etc? Most important, what are the real horrors to look for when buying used?

Think apart from the engine everything is like a V6... the JTS is 2004-> and I think has rose jointed rear suspension like the V6.Am off to see a 2004 GTV with the 2.0JTS engine (lovely red body and black leather) and although I've had scroll through many of the pages, and done a quick search, can't find any info on this particular combination. JTS would appear to be more reliable than the TS (at least on cambelts, bottom end), but I've heard that it loses some character compared to the TS.
Unless you're really really having to scrape the cash together to run a JTS, I think getting a V6 is a total no brainer. ~23mpg vs about 29 but for that you get a strong engine, great sound and much better performance. I had a TS before the V6 as it was my 1st car and with 0 NCB, the V6 was mega money to insure!! Got the V6 now and there's really no comparason.
The 2.0 JTS is a good unit and being 2004> will be the later revisions that are known to be sturdier.
The JTS does lose some of the character of the TS, but you do get some of that noise when you push it. However the JTS offers a few extra horses and a nice boost in torque.
Remember cambelt changes are every 36k or 3 years (whichever comes first).
