Hi
The rear plastic window on my Mother in laws 1998 Alfa Spider has split. Does anybody know if I can get a new window 'welded' in or am I better going for a replacement hood - if so any idea where to get a cheap one?

Thanks

The windows in Spiders unbolt and un-zip, bad news is that when I asked it was almost £300 for a replacement. I bought a complete hood for £300 and re-sold my old worn hood and bust window via e-bay. Search the scrap dealers there are loads of hoods/windows available, swapping either is a DIY job.

RW Brockwells on Tennyson Avenue, King's Lynn, Norfolk are Norfolks appulstary gurus and will make and fit a new window for about half that. Can't find the number anywhere but it'll be (01553) something, give it a google. smile

There's bound to be someone near you who can do it - it's not a hard job for a machinist. I had to have 2 put in my old MG, neither of which cost me more than £75 and the one in the Alfa will need done this year I reckon.

No need for Alfa OEM - it's just plastic and stitches and a zip!

Thanks for teh responses
I've found a place in Birmingham that will do it for £200 inc Vat.

The car is based in Hampshire near Soton but might be worth the trip.
