Hey Alfa fans should I be worried? it starts, stops & drives but the engine warning light is on. i've done about 10 miles with it like this to get home tonight. Alfa 156 2.0 JTS
thanks for the answer i have now booked it into Alfa Workshop for repairs. i thought it might be a blown motor, but it sounds like it's something in the engine sensors (motor = engine?). It seems to drive ok, water temp ok etc.
Has it flashed up the message on the screen. Check your battery first, Alfas are very sensitive to a low charge. If its the original battery then its probably passed its best. Hope this helps.
Mine has been on for a while - its a lambda sensor in my case, but can be caused by umpteen things! If your car is running ok then I wouldn't panic, but best to get it onto diagnostics and see what is amiss.
thanks for the replies. the message flashes up when I start the engine and then the engine management light stays on. Battery has a green "good" indicator, but i will check the charging volts tomorrow. It's due a service soon, so i'll get everything checked out.
