Alfa GT 3.2 V6 Advise sought.

The Arese V6 is a pretty reliable piece of kit, just make sure the cam belt has been done regularly, 48k max between changes, if the owner knows his stuff he will have the plastic water pump impeller changed for a metal one too. GT's are based on a 156, so suffer the same fragile suspension, eating various bushes regularly but apart from that they lovely thing.

The GT with the V6 engine is a great bit of kit. You may want to factor in a suspension upgrade ( eibachs or similar ), but well worth the outlay 
Good advice as the standard suspension is very harsh - at least on roads in Fife - but still allows the belly to scrape over severe(ish) compressions.
Make sure the windows go up and down, including the drop/raise when you open and close them, without any problems.
I may not bother with suspension at this point as we are comming from a car that is set up for the track and that suspension is rock hard so the alfa is not too bad at the moment.
The Lsd is a very good shout also - Will get that arranged.
Im curious to see what custom exhausts are available though.

Hi mate, I own an Alfa GT 3.2V6, and absolutely love the thing !
It pulls like a train, and the engine feels far more torquey than the torque figures would suggest. I can only presume that this is down to the efficiency of the engine, which is quite superb !
I also find the handling (and suspension) excellent, with a good, sharp turn-in when required, and quite decent steering feel for a power-assisted set-up.
The exterior, and interior, are subjective like any car, but again, I really like both !
Minus points (otherwise it would be a perfect world LOL)..........the seats, whilst looking good, and being comfy, are perhaps fashioned more for a 25year old with a six-pack, rather than a 46year old with an onset of middle-aged spread, and the view to the rear when reversing could be better, due to the high back and small(ish) wing mirrors, but other than that, can`t fault it.
For me, it`s a very accomplished package, and one I hope to keep and enjoy for some time.........!
