1993 Fiat Uno - Help!

Greetings,
So I've acquired a 1993 Fiat Uno to go rallying in next month.
It needs a few things done to it, such as changing the speedometer cable (speedo doesnt work at present), and I'd like to fit a 12V source to it.
Does anyone know how easily this could be done?
Its done only 35,000 miles, and seems really solid. Have changed the cambelt none the less, and will be doing roughly 3000 miles in it in July. Is there anything that I should be aware of in a car of this type?
