156 , idle control valve and warning lights

Hi all,
Is it possible that a faulty idle control valve could cause the fuel inj light to come on intermitantly. Car is an alfa 156 2.0ts.

I ask because I have had the intermitant warning light for a while now, as well as the car occasionaly idling high. It was mentioned to me by the guys at aflanatics that I might have a faulty idle control valve, and today the idle plays up at the same time as the warning light coming on after being off for a number of weeks.

So could they be related?
