Hi. ,I know I'm not the first to post something similar to this but thought I should...

I've just replaced the 2 fronts tyres on my Panda (15k) after it failed it's MOT for showing cord on the inside of thie tyre l- the rest of the tyre looked like new.

Anyhow, I checked the tracking, camber and toe and all was bang on - tyre pressure was spot on too. Anyone else seen this?

Still, I then looked at replacement and though I wasn't going down the F1 route again so opted for cheaper Toyo TR 1 and have to say what a transformation. Less road noise, more grip, more comliant ride and cheaper to boot by £20 each

So, either I had a duff set of Eagles or these will be gone in the mileage but it doesn't feel so twitchy and nervous. RESULT!!

For what it's worth, you can alos get the same tyre in a 50 profile for another £10 cheaper than the 45's ( more common) and This guy thinks they are even better ( http://onehundredhp.com/?p=98) so that will most likely be my next route too

Stay safe folks smile

Front inside wear means something's wrong with the rear alignment. I had premature + uneven wear on a Panda and it was cured with an alignment check.

According to the Fiat forums, this sort of tyre wear seems common.

You could well be right and I've read some similar posts on the subject but all 4 lined up correctly on a laser alignment check and were bang on manufacturer settings - also, some of the adjustments are not possible even if you wanted to tweak - for example camber ( which is what I was originally suspecting) cannot be changed :-(

As both fronts wore the same I'm hoping it was maybe a tyre pressure error ( I always use our local garage but think I will start checking with a gauge after from herein) as the they may have been over inflated and someone said the twitchy ride and wear could be connected - but this is all hypothesis now I guess.

I would try and get it checked under warranty but our local fiat garage are cocks as it missed a timed interval service in it's early life ( not me) - it only had 4000 miles on the clock when I bought it 6 months ago - unhelpful feckers!!
