Alfa 145 &146 gearboxes

My year 2000 facelift 145 (1.6 twin spark) is munching on it's gearbox, so I'm after a replacement.
Does anyone know if the 146 model has the same box?
Also, I have been told that the boxer engine gearbox won't fit. Any one to second that please?

Same box in the 146....for same engine. The 1.8 and 2.0 box will fit but probably have slightly different ratios which won't favour the 1.6 engine..

Boxer 'box won't fit, totally different set up/engine etc.
