Barn find GTV - how do I value it?
Discussion
Unearthed a '68 1750 GTV in a garage in Edinburgh a couple of months ago. Not in the best of nick, but the interior is immaculate, and only 55,000 miles on the clock. It hasn't been run for years.
Any suggestions on value, or where I could get a valuation?

Are you looking to buy it or sell it? That will effect the "value" people will tell you.
A mate has asked me to see if I can "get rid of it" for him. I use that term, as soon as you say "sell" people tend to start looking at their shoes and puffing.....Its living with me at the moment, so I'd like to see if I can get valuations from both perspectives - if I can move it on for somewhere between the two, I reckon the jobs a good 'un.

You lucky b
d, if I was in your position I would make an agreement with him about taking it myself and restoring it!
I would have - if only I had the time and spare cash.

Don't rush - that's one of the most desirable 105 models - and it looks unmolested.
Have a word with Classic Alfa, Alfaholics, Veloce Sport and see what they say.
- Agreed. The series 1 1750 is, IMO, the most desirable of all 105's, save the GTA's and Giulia TI Super - I absolutely adore it. As for what it's worth - wow, tough one. Depends a lot on history and such. I would reckon it should be possible to get around 5K for it, but you'll have to wait for the right buyer. All very much IMHO. Have a word with Classic Alfa, Alfaholics, Veloce Sport and see what they say.

If it spent it's life in Edinburgh, it's most likely a Jack Fisher car - either purchased through, or serviced by - worth getting in touch with Eddie Labinjoh as previously suggested. He might be able to dig out some history.
