Brera Prodrive SV6 gearbox whine

The wifes SV6 has developed an annoying whine. It only appears after a couple of miles when its getting warmed up and at low speed in 1st gear its quite loud and worrying. Once in 2nd its still there but a bit quieter. 3rd and above its quieter still. The SV6 as a fwd box rather than the 4wd regular brera. Does this sound normal? It sounds odd to me. Could it be an LSD issue (does it have an LSD?)? Strange it only appears when warm. The car has only done 5k miles.
