Hi all,

As title really, driving to work this morning and suffered catastrophic loss of boost, no fun when trying to overtake a tractor. Nothing above 0.4 bar (approx) showing with the loud pedal welded down.

Then it returned to normal after about 6 miles.

And similar experiences? I hate the thought of taking it in to the garage to be told "it seems fine" - the problem with intermittent faults!

(it's in warranty still so will go to the main dealer, it's 2008, 40k miles)

Thanks in advance. Stephen

Firstly check the pipes to the turbo.

They are one of the first things that can go resulting in loss of pressure.

Thanks, my first guess would be leaky pipe too but I wouldn't have expected it to rectify itself?

The intermittent nature of this has me (and the garage) baffled. Although the fact "the computer says no" in terms of fault codes doesn't help them.

Any ideas?

Boost control sensor is either loose or faulty.

Thanks for the input people.

Dealer is certain it's an ECU issue that is known about and is corrected with the latest ECU recall update .

I'll find out soon enough, but appears to be nothing mechanical.
