Saw a load today but this was the only one I liked at it was "natural" - as in nackered!
Actually it was in very good nick.

Don't know what model it is and tbh didn't even know Alfa's existed that were this old!

Model?

Thats not just an old Alfa, its a Marks & Spencers seriously valuable old Alfa, likely to be worth somewhere between £200k and £500k ...

It dates from 1929 and is known as an Alfa 6C 1750cc convertible, or variation thereof, And Alfa are one of the oldest car companies in the world having been nailing them together since about 1910, or 100yrs ... !

Hugely evocative and desirable cars, you ought to get one....current selling prices, depending on provenance, engine and body style hover around (plus or minus) £1/2m smile

Better than putting your money in the bank!

GTIR: Where (roughly) did you see this?

Im sure I saw this same car (aswell as another of similar vintage) driving over Twickenham Bridge on wednesday afternoon.

They certainly caught my eye, and gave off a beautiful smell of petrol fumes as they drove past.

The Pheonix? Thats the spiritual home of the VSCC.

The car next to it is a Lancia Dilambda (narrow angle V8), one of only two in the country. Bill Boddy (one of the founders of the VSCC, and of Motorsport magazine) had one. That's also a six figure car.

Maybe it was the same one... cant be too many of these around.

Did you also see another open top Alfa Romeo? This one was also Red but had a more curved body, looked like an old 1920's race car.

Something like this... except it had 'Alfa Romeo' written diagonally across the grill, and the grill itself was slightly lower and fatter...I wonder what it was, certainly very rare and expensive by the sounds of it.

^^^^ yes
There was about 10 of different flavours.

As I was looking a tiny and noisy one turned up popping and banging away after squealing to a halt on the road. Sounded quite beefy.

I was hoping to see a 80's Sud Ti but no luck. frown

Typical - a rusty alfa biggrin

What a gorgeous beast though. Something for the post-lottery wish list.
