Has anyone tried this?

As my cat has given up the ghost just wondered what peoples opinions where. Obv MOT will be a problem but its something I could sort out.

Will it improve sound/performance?

What GTV is it mate...........had my 2.0 'sports' catted, best of both worlds(sound and a couple of horses), Advised my V6 with custom headers and Larini back would not benefit.

Don't know which GTV it is you've got but If your cat's gone any way you'd probably be better off getting a performance/sports cat from somewhere like AlfaHolics ( http://www.alfaholics.com/2010/07/v6-cat-cf3-126/ ) because it won't stand a chance of getting through the MOT emissions without a cat of some sort. Emissions with both TS and V6 tend to be quite marginal at the best of times. I went for a Decat but obviously have to stick the cat back on once a year for MOT which is a bit of a pain & if the cat gives up the ghost I'll be going down the sports cat route. Decat is bloody noisy as well -it can get a bit wearing if you've got a loud exhaust system anyway.
