Ha; now there's a controversial title!

I have to say though, I have two Porsches at the moment - a Cayman S and a 911 Carrera 4S.
I'm just rubbish at selling cars; I really need to get rid of the Cayman.

Anyway, my wife has a Brera 2.2JTS SV and I would genuinely say-
The Brera is better looking than either Porsche.
Its interior is also a much nicer place to be (although you sit too high). The sunroof makes it lovely and light and I love the big slab of aluminium on the console.

This is the shocker though - I would also say it is better made.
Some of the plastics in the Porsches (lots of identical components inside) are plane shoddy
Around the handbrake for instance, they have plastic quality that would shame a 1988 Nissan Sunny.

Now I'm not completely mad - the Brera is nowhere near as good to drive.
It isn't as bad as some of the reviews say though.

I wrote on the Porsche forum how I'd love a 450BHP Cayman.
Imagine a 450 BHP, rear wheel drive Brera - now that would be nice!!

Could be!

My wife has the Prodrive 3.2 SV6. She really likes it and it definately ticks alot of boxes. I drive it from time to time and being a bloke i probably explore its limits more than she probably would. Asside from the reduced power over the 911 i'd say that its a bloody excellent performance car. Its no supercar, but it really does corner well and defies its flabby kerb weight with responsive steering and well poised suspension. The engine is quite gutsy with decent low down torque and potential to double the speed limit in a good time. Ive told her a number of times how i'd love to take it on the track and see what it can do but with Alfa reliability its best kept on the road and withing its limits.

Looks wise it really is better than the 911 (apart from the GT3RS). As for build quality im not that well versed in the world of Pork but i'll take your word for it.

The Brera is a very nice car guys, glad to here some positive feedback about one. I've not actually owned a Brera, looked a couple of times but with a couple of young kids it's really a no go. Not sure what Alfa is planning next, I think they've stopped making them.

Good to hear some Brera love.
Now if anyone can lend me a 911 I'd be happy to give some feedback.
