I may be mad, but I just bought this off ebay. Not seen it or spoke to the owner yet, but it's local and looks promising.

I always wanted a 155 ever since I sat in one years ago as a kid at the NEC motorshow.

What da ya fink? smile

Well I get to check it out before I pay and it's local - I'd not do it if it was any distance away!

Nice

I was in the same position as yourself last month. Have not regretted it yet. As said you may want to look up on the site linked above. Thats where I looked for all the info before buying mine. Lots of helpful info

It's only the driving position that's worrying me - I have proportionally long legs. IIRC, italian cars were always criticised for the driving position suiting long arms, short legs ape style!

It's less so in the 155, they'd moved away from the "long arm" position by the 90s.

Looks like you may have bought a good car there...check when the belts and tensioners where last replaced, should be every 36k/3yrs.

Any suggestions for cheap insurance? Guy I'm buying it off says he has it on a classic policy.

Yes, you should be able to get a normal classic policy as they're 13+ years old now, failing that try uttering the words "future classic policy", just depends how the company operates tbh.

But Chris Knott, Adrian Flux and Footman James are usually reasonable...depending on your history etc.

Well I got it, and it's amazing.

I cannot believe how good it is for £400.

Only issues I can find is a faulty oil temp gauge and the driver side window needed a few presses to get it back up - not sure if it's just the switch.

It had a cam-belt change 5 years ago, so I'll have to see how much to get it done.

Brakes are a bit squidgy, but think it's been stood a while and they seemed to get better coming home.

Was going dark so I'll give it better look over tomorrow morning before I go to work.

At the moment I'm very happy! smile

Don't worry about oil temp gauge , they never move even in heavy traffic (mine never did , in 14 months of ownership) Oil pressure more important

check out aforalfa on 155.org re cambelts , top bloke and top work , good price too smile

enjoy the 155 , worst thing I ever did was to sell mine frown
