Evening all.

Thought I'd post up the new GTV. I'm picking her up next month, and can't wait. The 156, all being well, is going to a new home this week frown It's been a sensational car in the short time I've had it, reliable enough, very quick and it looks beautiful, but its time to move on. Thanks again for everyone's advice, you've been great as always. thumbup

ETA - Completely forgot I'd discussed this car in another thread! Never mind, too late now! getmecoat

She's a beauty rob. Hope the 156 has gone to a good home. I was looking at another 156 but got me thinking I might save a bit more and get a GTV myself. Beautiful things.

Chap at work has a GTV Cup, stands out in the car park above all the Audi's and BMW's.

Does your's need anything doing to it?

Thanks Rhysenna. She doesn't need any work, it had a full belt, waterpump and plug change last week. I might upgrade to a Q2 differential shortly, a tastier exhaust and I'll probably get it detailed. Other than that, no immediate plans! Just can't wait to pick her up! That new car feeling. cloud9

I promise Ray!

She'll be having an unhealthy amount of my time and money spent on her. The OH is getting jealous already.

I've driven the GT diesel and was quite impressed, the JTDs are far more flexible than most diesels.

Would the appreciation of the final Arese V6 variants of the GT offset the JTD fuel consumption I wonder...? Being a future classic and all that... wink

I'm off to look at a couple of GT Lusso's JTD(?).2 door coupe both on 08 plates. Other than checking the timining belt water pump changes I have been advised to look at anything else I should check. The damn things look so gorgeous I just know that all sense will go out the window once I have a test drive.Any particular model more desirable?.
cheers

Have you picked up the GTV yet Rob?

Another couple of months and I should have enough to get me one. Interested to know what they are like to live with.

Hi mate, yes picked her up, but only today so I can't give any feedback on what they're like to live with as yet. Beautiful car though, everything I thought it would be and more. There's a few cosmetic bits and pieces I need to sort and she's in need of a good clean but the drive is fabulous.

The brakes are sharper than the 156 and the 147 that preceded it, the clutch has more weight to it (which I like) and the engine is nothing short of sublime. The only complaint I have is the noise, which is spectacular as you'd expect from the Arese V6, but surprisingly muted. Much less noise than my 156 V6 which was also on a standard exhaust.

Oh, and the frameless windows aren't sitting in their seals properly, so there's a lot of wind noise. Minor issue though, certainly nothing to worry about. Once I've given the car a thorough clean tomorrow I'll post some pictures up on Reader's Cars.
